Kanethic – Invest With Discipline

PMS – Portfolio Management Services

A professionally managed portfolio, held in your own name.

Portfolio Management Services (PMS) are provided by SEBI-registered portfolio managers who manage a portfolio of securities for each client. Kanethic does not provide portfolio management services.

What is it?

In a PMS, a SEBI-registered portfolio manager invests on the client’s behalf in a portfolio of securities held in a demat account in the client’s own name. The strategy and approach differ from one manager to another.

We help you obtain the portfolio manager’s disclosure document, fee structure and onboarding forms. The investment decision and the choice of portfolio manager are yours.

Who can invest?

  • Investors who can invest at least the minimum amount prescribed by SEBI for each PMS client
  • Resident individuals, HUFs, companies and other eligible investors who have completed KYC
  • NRIs, where the portfolio manager accepts them and regulations permit

Frequently asked questions

What is PMS?

Portfolio Management Services let a SEBI-registered portfolio manager manage a portfolio of securities for you. Unlike a mutual fund, securities are held directly in a demat account in your name.

Who can invest in PMS?

PMS is open to investors who invest at least the minimum amount prescribed by SEBI and complete KYC. Portfolios are concentrated and carry market risk, so please read the disclosure document carefully.

What is the minimum investment?

SEBI prescribes a minimum investment for each PMS client. Please ask us for the current figure, as regulations can change.

How is PMS different from a mutual fund?

A mutual fund pools money from many investors into one scheme. In PMS, the portfolio is run for you individually, holdings are visible in your own account, and fees and minimum amounts are different.

What are the charges?

Charges commonly include a management fee, an optional performance fee above a hurdle and operating costs. Structures vary by manager and are set out in the disclosure document and fee illustration.

Can I see what I own?

Yes. Your securities are held in a demat account in your name and the manager shares periodic reports and statements.
